Dear team members,
I know the past few weeks have been challenging for all of us, but we can overcome this with our fighting spirit and strong performances. To help us improve, I propose an intra-club training match focusing on the following areas:
Rules of the Game:
1. The first 22 to 24 committed players will be selected for the match.
2. There will be no 6 runs. If a batsman hits a six, - 6 runs and out.
3. Each out will result in a deduction of 2 runs.
4. Each no-ball will concede 5 extra runs.
5. Each wide will concede 2 extra runs.
Focus Areas:
a) Batting Technique: Proper backfoot, front foot, and trigger movements.
b) Running Between Wickets: Converting singles into doubles, calling for runs, and taking the right start at the non-striking end. Communication is key—always talk to your partner and keep motivating each other.
c) Bowling with Intent: Reading the batsman, setting the field accordingly (with the captain and keeper), and bowling to your field.
d) Ground Fielding: Using the best techniques to stop the ball, backing each other up, and handling balls that fall between two fielders.
e) Catching Techniques: Calling for the catch.
f) Game Awareness: Staying focused and aware throughout the match.
To become a better team, we need to stick to the basics and execute them well from the start. Consistency in these areas will help us maintain momentum and achieve better results.
I am confident that focused drills and training will improve our skills day by day.
